A quick post today to let you know that Wacky Tacky tape shapes, sheets and rolls are back in stock.
Wacky Tacky tape is a super strong double sided tape which is perfect for heavy duty use or sticking those hard to stick items such as beads and microbeads. Sticking microbeads with wacky tacky gives you a smooth even coating of beads which is nearly impossible to do when pouring into wet glue. And you don’t need to wait for it to dry, so it’s a great way to quickly add pizazz to a card or scrapbook layout.
Shapes available (2 sheets per pack) - hearts, stars and circles.
Full sheet (2 sheets per pack) 4×6 inches.
Trim tape - 1 roll 1/4″ and 1 roll 1/8″ - 5 yards of each

I couldn’t help but make a post about the latest episode of Dexter (Season 3, Ep 2 - Finding Freebo).

This episode has a few scrapbooking references scattered throughout that generally position scrapbooking in a bad light. It’s first brought up when the internal affairs officer suggests that Deb gets a life outside her work and take up a hobby like ‘gardening… or scrapbooking’.
Later in the episode there’s a great ‘out of nowhere’ moment between Deb and Dexter:
Deb: What the **** is scrapbooking?
Dex: …The tradition of putting photos and memorabilia into family keepsake albums along with relevant journalling.
Deb: I don’t even wanna know how you know that.
Whether you’ve seen the episode or not, this brings up an issue worth discussing:
Where does scrapbooking fit into your life? Do you proudly call yourself a scrapbooker or do you shy away from the term? What can we do to change the perception of scrapbooking by non-scrappers?

Would you believe me if I told you that our special event last night was so busy that none of us remembered to take any photos? All except this one that is, because I took it before anyone arrived!
I’d like to say another huge thankyou to everyone that came down to our special Papershakers sale last night. Many bargains were had, fingers got inky and a few bottles were emptied before the night was through. I rushed my way through some inky demonstrations. A few people had a play at the make and take table with backgrounds techniques and image transfers. and one lucky Papershaker won back what she spent - just over $90 - all in all a successful night!
If you brought a friend and didn’t grab a goody bag please let me know the next time you come in.
Also, if you were a friend and didn’t get a voucher the same applies to you. (I think these were completely forgotten in the mad rush!)
Once I’ve recovered from the cleanup and the catchup I’ll be posting tutorials for the techniques I roughly demonstrated last night. If I’m really good I’ll also post a few photos of finished items using the backgrounds.
If you’d like to get in on the Papershaker action, zip me an email, or ask to become a member the next time you visit us.

Sparked by a post over at Tabitha Emma I’ve created a flickr mosaic of yummy vintage things that I’d love to have in my house to inspire me every day.
Often when we talk about inspiration for paper crafters we’re looking at eye-candy of other papery creations that people have made. Sometimes rather than specific inspiration fora project you just need to surround yourself with images and things that just get you into that creative zone, the relaxed, dreamy place that your mind wanders off to when you’re focusing on things that delight you.
So, here’s 9 things that would delight me.

1. Vintage Filing Cabinet, 2. Untitled, 3. Beautiful Old Globe, 4. Feet, 5. Oh, the things I’ve heard!, 6. Type Case, 7. Metal Letters, 8. More Numbers, 9. the gramaphone
Feel free to post your own list in the comments, or link to your blog.

We’ve had a couple of orders arrive in the last few days and they’re now all unpacked and on the shelves.
Here’s a quick list of just some of the goodies new in store this week.
Watercolour pencils in two brands and in different sized packs- Adel is a standard quality range for experimenting, kids projects, stampers, cardmaking etc. Prismacolour is a professional, artist quality range that is suitable for scrapbooking, art journalling and anyone who takes their art a bit more seriously. The prismacolour range coordinates with other prismacolour products.
Glaze Paste - a thick paste similar to a PVA glue which is formulated to stick, seal, glaze and provide extra body when working with paper. Ideal for decoupage and collage. Lorri uses this to seal her image transfers.
